In January 2011, I was standing at a window in Cape Town with my phone in my hand, closer to the edge than anyone around me knew. A call came in from someone I barely recognised — asking if anyone wanted to hear about something called HeartMath. I almost didn't pick up.
Two weeks of daily practice later, I ran into my ex-fiancée unexpectedly. She wasn't alone. I had seconds to compose myself. And I was fine. Not numb — fine. The fog had lifted. I called the man who'd told me about HeartMath immediately. "When are we bringing this to South Africa?"
Since 2012 I've been the co-founder and director of HeartMath South Africa. The work I do falls into 3 areas:
I train and mentor HeartMath coaches.
I work with individuals who are at a crossroads — capable, self-aware people whose inner life isn't keeping pace with their outer one, or who've sensed for a while that something needs to shift but haven't yet found the right language for it. And I deliver HeartMind Leadership.
"“The journey to the heart is slow. It took me 41 years to even consider that it was a destination. In hindsight I realised that you can’t change the way you feel by thinking differently. You have to, in fact, feel differently.”"
